Welcome to "Dear World, I can do this." The musings of a housewife, student wife, Latter-day Saint, and individual (*GASP!* we can have an identity after marriage and motherhood?!!) . A place where we can talk about those things we always want to share with the world - A place to discuss great eats, share stories and other great tips, and enjoy successes. This is all about giving myself, and others, a VOICE.

Ready....SET...SHOP!

So here's our genius shopping tradition now.

How long does it normally take you to go grocery shopping? One hour? Maybe two? Unorganized or lots of kids and so maybe three?

Here's a new trick to try:

It all came about due to time constraints and having two wiggly kids that need to be entertained constantly. We kind of hate grocery shopping because it generally takes up a big chunk of our day and gets rather frustrating with the kiddos.

SO, I took our shopping list (you make one of those, right?) and split it in two, evenly.

We call this "Divide and Conquer".

Each of us took a kid and a cart and started at the same point in the Wal-Mart entrance.

"On your MARK,

Get SET....

GO!!"

We booked it through the store Supermarket Sweep style (well, Michael & Mr. G did, aka "Team 1") and then we met at checkout stand 24 (Wal-Mart) when we were done.

The boys beat the girls this time.

But only because I couldn't find the Fudgesicles. Otherwise I would have WASTED the boys.

In the end we were all winners, because the whole shopping trip only took us about 20 minutes. It was AMAZING.  Now that's what I can a great shopping trip. Michael and Mr. G got some fun time together, we weren't spending our Saturday fighting the kids in the store, and then we had some free time after wards!

BUT, we've decided that we're going to take it one step further and make this a fun family weekly tradition. And we're going to find some sort of mega cheap frozen yogurt or soft serve ice cream place and the winners get to choose the flavor of treat.

TRY IT!!
