Welcome to "Dear World, I can do this." The musings of a housewife, student wife, Latter-day Saint, and individual (*GASP!* we can have an identity after marriage and motherhood?!!) . A place where we can talk about those things we always want to share with the world - A place to discuss great eats, share stories and other great tips, and enjoy successes. This is all about giving myself, and others, a VOICE.

Crack in the Ice

Today I finally had a crack in the icy shell that my brain seems to have been sitting on for the last few months.

I finally felt anticipation, and excitement.

Isn't that depressing?! We've moved, bought our first home, etc. and this is the first time I've genuinely felt anticipation. And all over Hobby Lobby.

I know, lame, but still an exciting occurrence.

It all came when The Hubs suggested I use my trip to Hobby Lobby as a goal to work towards so that I can get the laundry done and the upstairs picked up. Something I've been struggling to complete for a while now.

It usually takes me FOR.EV.ER to finish the laundry, and so having this trip (which I REALLY want to take! Hello 50% off home decor!!) as motivation has really helped put my rear in gear.

And I'm EXCITED to go! When I first felt the anticipation and excitement, it was almost overwhelming.

The closest thing I can compare it to is seeing sunlight for the first time after being in the darkness for a long period of time. It just takes some time to let yourself adjust. It's a shock to the system, as this was for me.

A huge shock to my emotional system.

But I liked it.

:-)

Although, likely not as much as I'm going to enjoy my trip to Hobby Lobby.

  1. Make sure you go to hobbylobby.com and get your online coupon. I always wait until there's a 40% off one for the week.
